2015-16 SGA Elections: Chris Szalacha, Candidate for Treasurer

By Chris Szalacha, Candidate for SGA Treasurer

SGA.2015.ChrisFulfilling the role of Treasurer for the Student Government requires a bevy of skills and motivations. It is my desire to not only pay due diligence to these responsibilities, but to go above and beyond to improve the overall efficiency of the student government.

First off, I will meet and speak with new vendors. I understand that there is a slow payment process which many vendors can’t do, but I still see much room for improvement. If elected, I will be the guy who calls five or more vendors to generate a higher level of price competition. This will not just save the school money, but will open doors for more clubs and activities to get funding.

My other main goal as Treasurer is to facilitate more attention to activities where students are getting involved in their potential future careers. There is no better place for funding than in activities in which students enrich their transcripts. Students that have activities that are career related on their transcripts build a future. I would love to assist as many students as possible in doing that.

Personally, I’m proficient in math, well organized, and have dedicated my life to school. I have a 3.83 GPA and will fulfill every responsibility I have to not only obtain this position, but to fulfill it to an uncanny level.
