Fall 2015 CTL Schedule Announced for Faculty and Staff

CTL Fall 2015 Cover Edited-page-0 (1)Wright’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) invites all faculty and staff to participate in an exciting, eclectic slate of workshops and presentations planned for the Fall 2015 semester.

Prof. Claire Boeck kicks of the Fall series on September 9 at 3:30 p.m. with “Soft Skills: Sync or Sink?”

Additional September topics include Prof. Jan Knapp-Caporale’s recent travels among the Maasai of East Africa and the Tutsi of Rwanda  …  Prof. Patrick Ham’s suggestions for integrating 3-D printing technologies into the classroom … Prof. Sydney Hart’s guidelines for writing a successful sabbatical proposal … and much more!

 

Attendees will receive a Certificate of Professional Development and credit through Continuing Education.

The CTL will also feature three Book Club discussion groups:

  • A Hope in the Unseen: An American Odyssey from the Inner City to the Ivy League by Ron Suskind (facilitated by Phillip Virgen)
  • David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants by Malcolm Gladwell (facilitated by Mira Kolodkin and Sara Schupack)
  • The Meaning of Human Existence by Edward O. Wilson (facilitated by Polly Hoover)
