IPEDS Comparison Reports for Wright College
IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Educational Data System) is a gigantic system of connected surveys and information assembled by our nation’s Center for Educational Statistics. If an institution of higher education participates in federal student financial aid, it has to contribute data to IPEDS. All of the information is public. It is a powerful tool for examining and learning about higher education. Earlier in the fall of 2013 we created four specialized Data Feedback Reports to gain a better understanding of Wilbur Wright College in comparison to other institutions. The reports and explanation of their content follows.
CustomDFR_Lg_City_Lg_Insts_10-19999K – looks at 2-year colleges located in large cities (NCES defines a large city as having a populations over 250,000 residents) that have student populations of 10,000 to 19,999.
CustomDFR_Lg_Insts_10-19K_Midwest – looks at institutions with student populations of 10,000 to 19,999 students that are located in the Midwest, including the Great Lakes states (WI, IL, MI, IN, MI, OH) and the Plains region (KS, NE, AK, NA, SD, MN, IA). Note that the institutions in the comparison group are not necessarily located in large cities.
CustomDFR_Lg_Urb_Midsize City_Midwest Group – looks at 2-year colleges in large cities and large suburbs of cities. This report includes all of the City Colleges of Chicago as many of the community colleges in northeastern Illinois.
CustomDFR_Lg_Urb_Sub_Midwest Group – looks at 2-year institutions located in large and midsize cities located in the Midwest and includes all of the City Colleges of Chicago.
You can create custom reports – just explore the IPEDS Data Center.
