Submit Your Proposal for Faculty Development Week 2016 Today!

Faculty from all of the City Colleges of Chicago campuses will assemble at Malcolm X College on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. for Faculty Development Week.  This year’s theme is, Tapping into Our Own, Tapping into Our Talents.

Wright College faculty, administrators, and external partners are encouraged to submit presentation proposals by Monday, May 23, 2016 highlighting innovative teaching methods and efforts that support student success by tapping into our individual talents and contributions. For more information regarding Faculty Development Week and proposals from Wright College faculty, contact Associate Dean of Instruction Nancy Koll.

You will be asked to categorize your presentation under one of the City Colleges of Chicago’s Talents of Teaching (Click here for additional information about the Talents of Teaching). Sessions are generally 45 minutes in length and should be interactive and engage participants in the topics discussed.  There will be three types of sessions: 45-minute interactive session, 45-minute panel discussion, and 45-minute Pecha Kucha Sessions (your presentation will be one of 7-8 per 45-minute block).

Possible Session Types:

Pecha Kucha: A fast-paced, fun presentation using 20 slides for 20 seconds per slide (6:60 minutes total).

45-minute interactive session: An abbreviated interactive presentation, sometimes followed by a facilitated discussion for the remainder of time allotted.

Panel Discussion (45-minutes, 1-Discussion Leader with 3-4 panelists): Four to five connected topics are represented on a panel, which also includes a chair and three to four discussing. The chair introduces the panel, manages the time for each presentation and ensures that the discussion is polite and productive. Each panelist presents an abbreviated version of his or her topic followed by facilitated comments, questions, and discussion. The format of the panel is determined by the discussion leader in collaboration with panelists.

Faculty, Administrators, and External Partners please click here to submit proposals for City Colleges 2016 Faculty Development Week on Monday, August 15, 2016.  The deadline to submit your proposal is Monday, May 23, 2016.
