The Wright Side – Student Publication
On Friday, April 28, over fifty students, faculty, and staff gathered in the Faculty Dining Room to celebrate the launch of the 2017 edition of The Wright Side, our college’s literary arts magazine. Meghan Carey started the proceedings off with a self-penned song while playing the ukulele, and several other students performed their poetry, including four of this year’s winners of “The Poem of the Month” contest hosted by The Wright Side Student Club. These winners were Hannah Leland, Oscar Patino, Nora Diaz-Ortego, and Carlos Gutierrez. The other two poets who performed at the luncheon were Luz Capetillo and Eileen Melendez.
Club President Toma Talpa, Editor-in-Chief Amanda Jiang, Graphic Designer Caitlin Cabanas, and Faculty Adviser Vincent Bruckert addressed the attendees, many of whom were talented contributors who can now call themselves published writers.
Copies of the magazine can be obtained this week in Wright’s campus center.
