Wright College to Host September 3rd City Budget Hearing

Wright College will host Mayor Emanuel, his finance team and city leaders for a town hall meeting on September 3, 2015, to discuss the City of Chicago’s 2016 budget. The meeting will take place in the Events Building (Gym and Atrium) and will begin at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting is the final of three events designed to solicit ideas from city residents for budget savings, reform and revenue. Residents can also provide their ideas via social media during the town hall meetings, using the hashtag #ChiBudget2016. City departments and agencies will be in attendance to answer questions related to specific city services.

The series of town hall meetings kicked off Monday, August 31 at Malcolm X College. The second meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2 at the South Shore Cultural Center.

Mayor Emanuel will present the 2016 budget to the City Council on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
