Wright Students Join IT Solutions Firm Accenture as Paid Interns!
In April, City Colleges of Chicago announced a new internship in collaboration with global technology services provider Accenture that will further Wright College’s status as a Center of Excellence for information technology. Five City Colleges students are joining Accenture’s Chicago office as paid interns where they will assist in designing and delivering innovative IT solutions for internal Accenture clients to accelerate business innovation. This internship is just the latest opportunity provided through City Colleges’ ongoing College to Careers giving our students access to real-world experience and a first pass at job opportunities.
Four of the students – Sanjay Andonissamy, Robert Kerby, Danica Lohja, and Rigoberto Velazquez completed an associate degree in Computer Information Systems from City Colleges this past December. Sanjay graduated from Harold Washington, while Robert, Danica and Rigoberto each graduated from Wright. The fifth intern, Andrew Skelnik, completed a Basic Certificate in Computer Information Systems and continues to take IT coursework at Wright. Andrew, Robert, and Danica attended the Accenture Chicago-area All Office meeting at The Chicago Theatre on April 29 with Chancellor Cheryl Hyman to talk about this exciting partnership.
Prior to the internship selection, Rigoberto, Robert, Danica, Sanjay and several other candidates visited the Accenture Chicago office for interviews and a tour. More of their photos from that day are available on the Wright College Facebook page. Please join us in wishing all of the interns success this summer at Accenture!
